The Not in my School team is a student-led anti-bullying club at South Hull comprised of approximately 40 students from grade 1 to grade 6. One of their initiatives this year was to spread awareness about bullying and promote kindness and respect at school through student-made posters. Home and School was happy to fund the materials needed so students could design and create posters that hang proudly in our hallways!

The South Hull Home and School committee's funds are put to good use. Here's a sample of how the students are benefiting. Terry Fox ApplesEach year South Hull participates in the Terry Fox Run. It acts as a wonderful kick-off activity to start each school year. Students and staff do a wonderful job of showing Terry Fox Spirit. On the day of the run, Home and School was thrilled to purchase apples so each student could have a snack before or after the event. These apples serve as a nice treat and extra pick-me-up for the students! Golden TicketGolden tickets are given to students from staff to acknowledge them going above and beyond with positive acts at school (being polite, showing respect, being helpful, etc). These tickets enter the students into a draw at the end of each month. Eight lucky students receive a 10$ book gift card. Home and School is happy to fund these prizes each month. Not In Our SchoolNot In Our School inspires students of all ages to develop and share innovative ways to resist bullying and promote an atmosphere of acceptance and inclusion. Home and School was happy to help promote this initiative by purchasing t-shirts and materials to make promotional posters.
BingoWho doesn’t love a good game of Bingo?? During certain times of the year the students and staff of South Hull participate in a WHOLE SCHOOL bingo game !! To keep this beloved tradition alive, South Hull happily replaced the old bingo machine which had almost no life left in it! With our funds the school was also able to buy bingo cards which can be photocopied for ease of playing the games ! Staff Appreciation LunchSouth Hull has the best staff in the world! During Staff Appreciation Week, Home and School provided a shawarma buffet with all the fixings for all of our wonderful staff members. Students were also asked to write a special message to a staff member of choice inside a cut-out heart and these hearts now adorn the walls of our school for everyone to read! We were happy to help make Staff Appreciation Week a success !!
