October 17, 2022 Meeting Minutes

2.  Adoption of agenda

3.  QFHSA updates/other (Brian) 

• Fall conference is on Saturday Nov 12 at Martin Elementary school in Cote Saint luc
• At the provincial level the QFHSA has concluded the C13 amendments to the official language acts
• QFHSA is one of three parties that has received a grant for interviews for integration. Interviews will be between Nov 2022 and Feb 2023.

             
4. Financial Update (Cathy) 

• In a good place financially so H&S can provide funds to teachers
• Deirbhile – 1 time payment of $58 for a grade 3 class pumpkin patch (Moved by Deborah and Seconded by Nathalie)
• Deirbhile – 1 time payment of up to $250 for a grade 3 and 4 for a lunch time art class (move by Missy and Seconded by Nathalie)
• Chris - $819.25 onetime payment for not in my school shirts (28 shirts) for an anti-bulling program all year (This will be Tabled for next month)
• Chris - $904 for shirts for the South Hull News Team) This will be Table for next month
• Celine - $124.04 for boxes to help deliver lunches to every class (Move by Deborah, seconded by Nathalie)

 
5.  Website update (Kathleen) and Membership 

• Website has no update other than a small group put together to assist with website updates.
• If there is still those that want to vote during a H&S meeting then pay the fees as the list will go out Nov 15

 
6.  Square POS (Kathleen) 

• Looked into it but will need to change from stripe which is offered by the website. There will be some changes that will need to be done but Kathy will look into it. Kathy will also speak to Cathy since they are asking for banking info.

 
7.  Halloween Committee 

• $2 entry
• $1 for popcorn, food and juice
• DJ is in large gym (either volunteer parent of Known DJ, not sure yet)
• Daycare will be a quiet room
• Photo booth in the small gym and uploaded to a folder (Google drive restricted on the link)
• If Teachers are willing then the pics will be used for a contest
• Will make sure that pics of students that parents do not want on the net will not be put up
• Start at 6 to 6:30pm to setting up and start cleaning up around 8pm
• Is the water from the fountain good to drink? It is but at times it is high in iron. Kids can bring their water bottles.
• Glow bracelets not this year for the environment
• Smoke machine will not be placed outside at the entrance as there are children with allergies.
• Disco ball…can we purchase one from Amazon? H&S authorizes $100 to purchase the light

 
8.  Pizza, Subway & Popcorn Days 

• In the middle of them and all is going well

 
9.  Movie Night (Chloe) 

• Discussed it last time and will propose December 9, 2022.

10.  School Gear update (Cathy) 

• The shop closed at noon today

11. Fundraisers
 

• Approach Brown Bag coffee for an advent calendar
• Cinnibon is still on
• Need to start advertising the Christmas trees

12.  Round Table 

• Eric would like to add the volunteer and the fundraisers to the google calendar so all are informed and windows are not missed. All agreed
• Kathy would like to have the bazar on the 3rd of December
